The Calling….
One winter day in November of 2003 at the end of my church service, the worship leader came up to me and asked me if I was going to the meeting that was being held at another church near by. I told him that I hadn't heard of any meeting but I had plans to go and see my youngest son who was in the hospital at the time. After visiting with my son, I could not get "this meeting" out of my mind the worship leader spoke of. I had no idea why either. I wasn't at all interested at the time he told me about it...…it was probably over anyway, I thought.
On the way home, I decided to drive by this church and to my surprise there were many cars in the parking lot. I decided to go in. I saw a long line of people who were waiting to speak with this couple that were standing at the front of the church. I didn't know this couple and inquired from people standing around. I was told that they were a very anointed prophetic couple that truly hear from the Holy Spirit. I did not get in line, I just sat down and watched.
After there was no one else in the line, I felt a nudge to get up and talk to this couple. (about what?... I thought.) As I walked up to them, the woman told me that I was going to be doing what she was doing. (I had no idea what she meant) Then the man started speaking, "I see a vision of a Christmas tree"…..with that I started to weep. (I had no idea why) He continued…."I see the gifts under the tree, it's not about the tree, it's about the gifts. I see you handing out the gifts and saying, Here, this gift has your name on it, God wants you to have this, it's for you". (by this time, I'm heavily weeping…still with NO understanding) The man said he saw me in this vision handing out the gifts and telling people what they were. He said to me, "You have a heart to let people know what their gifts are and helping them understand, grow and excel in them". The woman added that I was also going to have a marriage ministry (I was divorced and alone at the time). Then another gentleman standing by told me that I was going to be the mother of many. (at this point, I was undone) How did they know my hearts' desires? It MUST have been the Holy Spirit!
A few years later I was at a church that had a guest prophet. She was up at the front of the church speaking when all of a sudden she walked right up to me and told me that the Lord is going to use me to help abused women. She didn't know me at all and strangely enough, I was going through severe mental, emotional and spiritual abuse at that time. I didn't look abused. I looked very nice that day and was feeling pretty happy just being there. It MUST have been the Holy Spirit that revealed that to her! The couple and this woman told me a lot more but I knew in my heart that was the hour that God let me know…."I'm calling you Sherée".
Since those times, I have become an Ordained Minister and Certified Life Coach, caring for peoples' hearts with small wounds from childhood to very deep wounds from abuse. I have emotionally supported people in their life's struggles and I have helped and encouraged and coached many in their ventures. I loved every minute of it! It is so amazing when you discover what you were created to do. It's like "HE" lights a fire in your heart! If you aren't aware of your gifts or calling yet, HE sometimes puts someone in your path to shed light on it! (and then you know....that you know) But also, HE equips us for the calling!
